The mission of the college鈥檚 Information Technology (IT) unit is to support and enhance the college鈥檚 academic and administrative initiatives and operations.
The IT unit鈥檚 main office is located at the college鈥檚 Swainsboro location in the George L. Smith II Building. The unit also has an office (Room H1705) in the Nessmith-Lane Building at the college鈥檚 Statesboro location on the Georgia Southern University campus. Both the Swainsboro and Statesboro IT offices have a help desk. Currently, the IT unit does not have an office at the college鈥檚 Augusta location; however, remote IT support/assistance for that location, as well as for the Swainsboro and Statesboro locations, can be obtained by completing the 鈥淎sk EGSC IT鈥� form via the link in the side menu or by contacting the department via phone.
The main phone number for the IT unit is 478-289-2004, and the unit鈥檚 regular operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We want to encourage you to do your part in making everyone's online lives safe and secure. Here are some basic tips:

- Keep a Clean Machine: Having the latest security software, web browser, and operating system are the best defenses against viruses, malware, and other online threats.
- Protect all devices that connect to the Internet: Along with computers, smart phones, gaming systems, and other web-enabled devices also need protection from viruses and malware.
- Plug & scan: 鈥淯SBs鈥� and other external devices can be infected by viruses and malware. Use your security software to scan them.
- Back it up: Protect your valuable work, music, photos, and other digital information by making an electronic copy and storing it safely.
